About
Prior to becoming a counsellor I worked in the banking, legal and music industries in various positions from administration, sales, marketing to managerial.
My change to counselling came from a desire to more personally help others with the struggles life throws at us that negatively impact our well being.
I have attended Auckland University, Bay of Plenty Polytechnic and WINTEC for my tertiary education
I have lived in many places. Upon arriving in the beautiful Bay of Plenty 27 years ago I fell in love with the area and made Tauranga Moana home base to raise a family.
Counselling
I am experienced in:
I work with individuals, couples, rangitahi/youth and whanau/families. I have specific experience with adults, families/whanau and children/adolescents where mental health affectations result in behavioural and emotional problems that fracture relationships. Also traumatic experiences which continue to encroach on day to day living.
I provide counselling services for a wide range of issues. Including:
My focus is to help clients to understand what is affecting them and assist them to take back control and mastery of their lives with a view to enhancing relationships and day to day living.
Ongoing Professional Development and Supervision
I attend regular external supervision including peer and cultural supervision.
I also regularly attend various training and workshops / seminars to keep informed and broaden my counselling insight and practice.
