What's involved in gaining counselling?

The process is really simple. Clients can refer themselves or be refered by any health professional, social services agency or support person. Either click on "contact us" above or give the client our pamphlet, which can be downloaded from this website.The pamphlet contains a complete list of therapists and counsellors that we use, so the client can choose who they want to contact

Who is eligible for funding?

Those who are on a low income or a tight budget where most of it is used to repay debt or meet other long term commitments may be eligible for Bay of Plenty Therapy Foundation funding.

Children and young people are our highest priority with families second. Others are funded with remaining funds or funds from other sources.

The Bay of Plenty Therapy Foundation provides funding for clients to  see experienced counsellors, psychotherapists
and psychologists, who must belong to professional governing bodies that have clear codes of ethics and require compliance with standards of practice including stringent requirements for confidentiality and supervision of practice.
