About
Originally from rural Waikato, I have called Tauranga home since 2014. I came here with my wife, first to gain my Bachelor of Counselling and then to continue my counselling career and to begin our family.
I have always had a passion for connecting with people, particularly with youth, so counselling became an obvious career choice from a much earlier time in life than many other counsellors.
I worked in various roles including a high school counsellor and NGO work prior to starting my own business in 2018. I enjoy working with a wide range of individuals of all ethnic groups including both adults and adolescents with many forms of mental health issues and addictions. I hold contracts with PHO and EAP services as well as seeing private clients.
My early work as a counsellor was at a local high school. I worked there until 2018 when I started my private practice which I still run to date. In my practice, I work with people of all ages and backgrounds privately and through various contracts.
- Bachelor of Counselling (Bethlehem Tertiary Institute)
- Diploma in Family Support (Bethlehem Tertiary Institute)
Experience
- Cognitive Behaviour therapist
- Narrative Therapist
- Solution Focused Brief Therapy
- Polyvagal Theory
