My name is Nancy Morrow-Hogg, and I am a third generation New Zealander.
On my paternal side, I am from English descent, and maternal, Irish descent.
I have lived in Tauranga since 1954, and came into the “therapy profession” when working in Medical Management.
It was this work that created my belief in the importance of good health contributing to how we feel. I went onto train as an “adult educator” initially as a group worker in the early eighties, and later moved into further study, culminating in my admission to the New Zealand Association of Psychotherapy.
I come from a psychodynamic perspective and have built much of my work on Attachment Theory. I now work part-time, and support my husband in our family business. Having a family business outside of counselling provides me with an understanding of the pressures that modern day living brings to relationships.
I am married and live in a step-family and currently have grandchildren, ranging in age from 6 months to 21 years.
I have been a partner in Bay Counselling & Therapy Service for 20 years where I enjoy strong collegial friendship and support. We meet weekly for supervision, and have three monthly cultural supervision, and I have monthly personal individual supervision,
On-Going Professional Development
I make it my priority to attending two workshops / training sessions a year
